25-26 Mentor Applications Are Now Open!
Rising 9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th graders are welcome to apply! Prior experience in robotics is preferred. We are looking for individuals possessing strong leadership skills & overall dedication to our mission. Mentors/School Coordinators will each be assigned an elementary school.
School Coordinator: Leads meetings for students, gives daily announcements, manages google classroom, and is responsible for the overall program at the assigned elementary school.
Mentor: Helps out at biweekly meeting with students.
School Coordinators must be able to make both Mondays & Wednesdays (while highly encouraged, this is not required for mentors)
Mentors/School Coordinators must diligently manage & prepare students for competitions to ensure success.
Mentors/School Coordinators are responsible for their own transportation.
School Coordinators/Mentors should try to be available to go competitions if necessary.
All 5th graders, regardless of prior experience, are welcome to apply! We are looking for dedicated, hard-working kids with an interest in learning more about robotics.
Designer: The designer is in charge of the design notebook. They are responsible for drawing pictures and keeping a daily track of goals, progress, problems & solutions, game strategies, etc.
Programmer: The programmer codes the robot's movements using block code. They are also responsible for autonomous (driverless) code.
Driver: The driver is responsible for strategically moving the robot to win the game. They are responsible for practicing and using game strategies.
Builder: The builder is responsible for making the robot to efficiently win the game.
Students should be available Mondays & Wednesdays after school.
Student should be able to work well in team environments.
Student should have good attendance.
Student should have good work ethic.
